Surviving Terror
Surviving Terror
Surviving Terror celebrates the resilience of the human spirit. It weaves together the stories of three families whose lives were forever changed by some of the most notorious acts of terrorism of the past decade: the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the 2005 London transit bombings, and the Bali nightclub bombing in 2002.

It's been nine years since Liz Alderman's 25-year-old son Peter was killed in the World Trade Center attack. Every day since then she's faced with the same two options; succumbing to the depths of despair or finding a way to survive.

Esther Hyman knows about this choice. Since her sister was killed when the London bus she was riding to work was blown up, she too has had to continuously keep from being immobilised by nagging grief and sadness. And Ben Tullipan lives now minus his two legs and most of his hearing because of the one-ton car bomb that went off in Bali just several metres from where he was standing.

Surviving Terror follows these survivors to five continents where they search for meaning, honour and a new life's path. The program asks whether they will succeed or whether the terrorists will continue to wreak havoc on their lives well into the future. (From the US) (Documentary PG
